Flaregames and Yeahmobi announce China publishing strategic partnership

Karlsruhe, Germany / Xi’an, China -
Flaregames, a leading mobile games publisher and Yeahmobi, a leading mobile advertising and publishing company, have entered into a strategic partnership. Jointly, the two companies have developed a new strategy to solve the problems that have thus far prevented Western game developers from successfully launching their games in China.

Having been one of the many Western publishers entering the Chinese mobile games market in recent years – China is currently the biggest market* for Flaregames’ hit action RPG Nonstop Knight – Flaregames is well-positioned to understand the challenges and opportunities associated with such a move.

Yeahmobi is uniquely positioned to understand Western and Asian markets and deliver games into China at scale. With headquarters in China and offices in Korea, Japan, US, and Germany, Yeahmobi recently completed a $100MM raise, formed a partnership in China with Alibaba, and was awarded Google’s “Mobile Champion of China Channel Partner.”

With the announcement of this strategic partnership, Yeahmobi will work with Flaregames to bring its next game to China, acting as the first step in a newly forged relationship. In addition, both companies are calling out to other Western developers who’ve experienced similar issues to get in touch and open a dialogue.

“Like many Western companies, we’ve historically struggled to make a game-changing breakthrough in China, the world’s biggest mobile gaming marketplace,” said Mickael Bougis, VP Marketing at Flaregames. “By forming this partnership with such a market-leading force as Yeahmobi, we bring our differing skillsets and knowledge to the table and strengthen both sides. This is an exciting moment for us and we look forward to kickstarting this partnership with our next title release.”

“Yeahmobi is excited to have found in Flaregames a highly respected and dynamic Western partner that shares our vision to create a bridge that provides a modern, seamless, and profitable path for Western apps to enter China,” says Everett Wallace, Director, China Publishing. “We are confident in the results of this partnership given our complementary strengths, combined global infrastructure, and a joint commitment to a truly international approach which incorporates both Western and Eastern elements.”

With the announcement released on the eve of the Game Developers Conference (GDC, 19th-23rd March) in San Francisco, Flaregames has also today revealed its new corporate visual identity, focusing around its commitment to championing world-class mobile game developers.

“Flaregames has evolved rapidly since its early days – back in 2011 – as a geo-localised mobile game developer start-up,” continued Mickael Bougis. “Having transitioned to full publisher status in 2014 and since become the 120-strong, award-winning** team we are today, our new branding reflects this journey as well as our mission to expand our global developer network and support even more world-class game creators.”
