Project Nonstop centres around the eternal journey of a knight who in each moment is faced with hordes of fiendish enemies. As this quest is never-ending, players must support their Knight by picking up rewards, upgrading weapons and gear and discovering new abilities to help the little buddy battle better and further. Playable with one hand (more precisely: with one thumb), Project Nonstop offers an adventure ideal for on-the-go interaction throughout the day.
Kopla Games was formed in 2015 by four seasoned developers who initially met while working on Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise. With Project Nonstop being their first release as a company, a key mission objective for Kopla Games is to make action RPGs accessible to a mass audience. To make this announcement today, Kopla Games have come out of “company stealth mode” and feature in a newly released announcement video for Project Nonstop.
“We’re delighted to partner with such a hugely talented team set to make a big impact in the mobile gaming industry,” commented Klaas Kersting, flaregames CEO and founder. “What immediately struck us about Project Nonstop was its unique concept and the ease with which a player can jump into quick-fire play sessions. Our mission now is to keep iterating on the game’s core mechanics and develop further innovative ways for the player to interact with the Knight from one day to the next.”
“There are many companies releasing action RPGs for mobile, yet there is a gap in the market for such an adventure that resonates with a much broader audience,” said Mika Kuusisto, Kopla Games CEO and co-founder. This is exactly our reasoning for releasing Project Nonstop – we want to take the long life-time and good monetisation of action RPGs and create accessible gameplay experiences for all.”
For flaregames, this latest partnership with yet another world-class team of developers complements an already packed portfolio of top-tier mobile games coming in 2016. The company has already partnered with high-profile game developers such as Limbic, Brainz, Subatomic Studios and most recently Emerald City Games to present a diverse and exciting line-up for the rest of the year.
As part of this announcement made during Casual Connect in Amsterdam, members of the flaregames team – including Klaas Kersting – will be showing off Project Nonstop from 18:00-18:45 CET today, Wednesday 17th February at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Going forward, flaregames will have more details to share on the development of Project Nonstop in the near future.
