Following runaway success of Nonstop Knight, game publisher flaregames acquires Kopla Games
Mobile gaming publisher flaregames has today announced its acquisition of Kopla Games, a Finnish gaming startup on a mission to introduce action RPGs to everyone. The acquisition follows on from the current partnership between the two companies with mobile game Nonstop Knight. The title became the most successful game launch in flaregames company history with over 2 million installs in the first 3 days of its release.
The acquisition of yet another world-class studio - following the acquisition of Frankfurt-based Keen Flare in 2013 - represents ideal timing for flaregames after recently announcing it has tripled its revenues and profits since the turn of the year. As part of the acquisition deal, Kopla Games will remain completely operationally independent, as flaregames believes that developers should have creative freedom, with the role of the publisher being to help educate the developer when making decisions. As well as retaining the company name, Kopla Games will also remain in its current location in the centre of Tampere, Finland.

Together we will create the next mobile gaming phenomenon.”
Nonstop Knight was released globally for iOS and Android devices on 2nd June, ranking in the "Top 100 apps" in 130 countries and receiving critical acclaim from players. However, this strong performance was a result of rigorous tests and iteration during the game's beta phase (soft launch). Comparing data between the soft launch and global release of Nonstop Knight, flaregames and Kopla dramatically increased the number of people still playing the game after 30 days by 75%, as well as increasing both store conversion (click through rate) and life-time value (how much each user spends) by 130%. Such figures demonstrate the strength of the partnership between flaregames and Kopla Games following the initial announcement of Nonstop Knight in February 2016.
